A Thoughtful and Individualized Apporach to Care

If you’ve found your way here, you’re likely wondering whether I might be a good fit for your health concerns. That’s a fair and important question. My hope is that, after reading a bit about me, you’ll have a sense of whether my approach feels right for you.

I work with your standard musculoskeletal pains such as back aches, knee pain and shoulder pain.  But I work in depth with those  facing a wide range of health challenges, with a particular focus on complex or long-standing issues such as chronic inflammation, pain, digestive disorders, fertility and gynecologic concerns, and men’s health. Many of the patients who come to see me have tried other approaches without lasting relief. I enjoy taking the time to listen carefully, look beneath the surface, and help make sense of complicated patterns.

How I Practice

My practice integrates acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition. I’m licensed in Massachusetts as both an Acupuncturist and a Dietitian/Nutritionist, enabling me to combine Eastern and Western perspectives in a practical, thoughtful way. For more complex cases our first session together we will sit down and go over your entire health history from childhood until now.  I will look at any biomedical testing you have had done and of course use Chinese medicine diagnostics such at tongue, pulse and abdomen to connect patterns. We will set goals for your health.  This initial intake will take up to 60 minutes.  Each time we meet for a session we will have a short check in so I can understand where you are and what has and has not worked.

Formal Education

My educational path has been shaped by a long-standing curiosity about how the body heals. I earned a master’s degree in Human Nutrition in 2004 and, in 2006, a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture. In 2025, I completed an entry-level doctoral program at Yo San University. Each stage of training has deepened my appreciation for how our physiology is interconected with all that exists.

Clinical Trainings & Certifications

In 2009, I received advanced training in food hypersensitivity and immune response, an area that continues to shape how I think about chronic symptoms and inflammation. The following year, I completed Certified LEAP Therapist training, which helped me refine how I work with food sensitivities in a clinically meaningful way. I’ve learned that testing can be useful, but thoughtful interpretation and individualized care matter most.

In 2014, I became a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, underscoring my ongoing commitment to reproductive health for both women and men.

Teaching and Writing

Teaching has also been an important part of my professional life. I’ve serve as adjunct faculty at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences New England School of Acupuncture since 2007, teaching Western Nutrition. I previously taught Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches to women’s and men’s health. Teaching keeps me curious, humble, and always learning since my students are great teachers.

I have been asked to proof read several books including John Chen’s 2006 Chinese Herbal Formulas book, Toby Daly’s Saam acupncture book. I’ve also taught online herbal and Saam acupuncture classes.    I recently published an article on an autoimmune case in the Journal of Chinese Medicine.

Admiration for Classical Chinese Medicine

Over time, my clinical interests have drawn me more deeply into Classical Chinese Medicine. Although I began my second career influenced by Functional Medicine, I found the classical tradition offered a depth and perspective that resonated more fully with my understanding of health and healing. Studying with teachers such as Sharon Weizenbaum and Dr. Ed Neal among others, has shaped not only how I practice but also how I think about balance, resilience, and our relationship with nature.

To me, Chinese Medicine is a living tradition—one that continues to unfold as you engage with it. I see my role not as “fixing” people but as providing the right inputs so the body can do what it’s designed to do. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching patients reconnect with their capacity to heal and regain confidence in their health.

Why Patients Choose to Work with Me

Patients often tell me they appreciate being truly listened to. Many arrive feeling frustrated, unheard, or overwhelmed by symptoms that haven’t responded to quick fixes. I take the time to understand the full picture—your history, patterns, and how your body responds over time.

People also value my integrative approach. By combining acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition, I tailor care rather than rely on one-size-fits-all solutions. My goal is always to provide practical, thoughtful treatment that supports your body’s ability to heal—at a pace that feels right for you.
Above all, I care deeply about helping patients feel at home in their bodies again. Clear communication, steady progress, and realistic expectations matter to me, and I see our work as a collaboration rather than a directive.
